Welcome to the official Baekyeol exchange! This is the 2016-2017 prompting post. It includes general rules, examples, and the format that we would like you to submit your prompts in. As this is the third year that we have done this, we welcome all new readers and writers as well as those who have been with us previously. We will always encourage you to do your best and help you as part of our family so we welcome all of your creative ideas and stories so that this year will be just as memorable as the rest! With that being said, let's begin our BAE2017 journey!

• We do NOT operate through LJ PMs. It’s a lot easier for us to interact with participants through email, so please check the email you sign up with regularly.

Highlights of The Timeline

• Prompting begins: November 5, 2016


• Prompting ends: November 25, 2016


• Claiming begins:  November 27, 2016


• Claiming ends: December 27, 2016


• Confirmation & Official prompt will be sent: Within 24 hours.


• 1st Check-in: December 27, 2016


• 2nd Check-in: February 19, 2017


• DEADLINE: April 16, 2017


• Posting begins: May 6, 2017

PLEASE NOTE: Claiming will not end until December 27th, which is also the same day as first check-in. The reason why this is so is because many people wanted to join the fest last year past the claiming period. Mods see no harm in letting anyone who wants to join participate. The prompts will be first-come-first-serve as always. Those who join later can claim prompts that are still unclaimed. If need be, we are more than willing to give extensions to late claimers and busy, busy bacons.

EXTENSIONS & DROP OUTS

• Granted on a case-by-case basis (email mods at baekyeolexchange@gmail.com)


• Please inform us ASAP if you need to drop out.


• We reserve the right to drop participants at anytime if we believe they will not finish their fic.


• We reserve the right to remove them from the exchange if we think they are flaking (not taking things seriously, dropping off).


• Participants will be dropped if they do not check in and we have emailed them multiple times to ask why they did not respond.

WHAT HAPPENED TO LAST YEAR'S PROMPTS? Prompts that were unclaimed last year will be added to the 2016-2017 archives.

TRIGGER WARNINGS

ENTRIES

• Baekhyun/Chanyeol must be the main pairing in all entries; however, this does not mean you cannot end the story with broken!chanbaek.

If you have any questions, contact the mods.We will happily reply to your email!

• Entries must be original and able to stand on their own, not a continuation of something already posted.


• Plagiarism is not allowed. The entry will be taken down as soon as it comes to our attention.


• All entries must be rated and given warnings appropriately.

WHAT IS CONSIDERED TO BE A GOOD PROMPT?

• Do not be too vague and do not be too detailed.


• Your prompt should not be a story summary. We want writers to have the ability to interpret your prompt in a way that allows for their creativity to be exercised.


• Good prompt: Chanyeol doesn't believe in love, but he does think Baekhyun's the most annoying neighbor anyone could ever have.


• Bad prompt: Chanyeol goes to school one day and finds a cat. He takes the cat home and it turns out to be a magical boy. The boy's name is Baekhyun. The next day, Chanyeol finds out Baekhyun attends his school. Since he's mean and uncaring because he's a bad boy, Chanyeol bullies and black mails him. But then he sees Baekhyun being chased as a cat by elementary school kids after school and he decides to save him because he's actually a really cool guy who pretends he's a bad boy.You get the picture. No summary, no intricate details.

Prompt: Baekhyun is a mall employee and Chanyeol is an attractive mall security. Chanyeol does a lot of rounds near the store Baekhyun works at to chat him up. Chanyeol proves to be an efficient security when a situation arises.
