Summary: In order to escape Seoul and his life, Baekhyun buys on impulse a ticket to Italy. He doesn’t know what to expect from a country he doesn’t know. He has to face the language barrier, his fears and the loneliness. Yet, on his first day, he meets Chanyeol, a busker playing the guitar in the streets of Rome, who soon becomes his tour guide. Baekhyun discovers Italy thanks to Chanyeol, but struggles to forget what happened in Seoul.

I havent been to Italy... But it's been on my list since the first time I watched lizzy mcguire the movie lol.. And the scenes from the movie felt coming back as i read your fic! From fontana di trevi, spanish steps, via condotti.. One of these days im sooo gonna try that famous gelato near the fountain (if im not mistaken? :p)

Alsooo im suuuuper lovin this summer love thing xD the idea of going to a place u have totally no clue about and making friends (or even more?) there~ just letting fate and circumstances lead you.. I love this so so much!

The only problem i have is...... withdrawal feels..... Why did you stop!!! Why whyyyy!!

I stopped there because i wanted to keep it as a summer fling. The story is centered around their meeting in Italy and i liked the idea of leaving it open for you to think about it.
If you have the chance to go to Italy, be sure to check out some of the things I mentioned lol (i think the best gelato I had was near Piazza Navona, or near the Pantheon, but any italian ice cream is good tbh)

First of all, I'd like to thank you for writing this beautiful piece of writing. It's so great you have no idea how much I love roadtrip!AU ;A; And to think that the scenes are set in Italy is just xDDDDDD Your style of describing is A++++. It's incredible. It's like I really get to see how Italy looks like by only reading this ;; You must have visited all these places a lot of times considering the fact that you explained every single detail abt the places very carefully (OR ARE YOU FROM THERE OMG). I learned a lot about Italy just by reading this and you even mentioned so many places in Italy and now I'm dying to go there one day hdskfhdk I rly want to see the Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna (I keep thinking of pizzas when I read this word I'm sorry :( and other Piazzas), VENICE!!!!! (omg I've heard a lot of great stuff from this place alone) and a lot of other places that you've mentioned in the fic! AND LOOK AT ALL THEM FOOD XDDDDDDDDDDDD This is so amazing I just want to reread everything and cry thinking that it might take me years to finally visit these beautiful places :<

Anyways, this story is so so so realistic in a good way. The problems they both are facing are understandable. I mean, they were not exaggeratedly written like most of the fics I've read. Busker!Chanyeol is always hot :((((((((((((( AND HE EVEN SPEAKS SIMPLE ITALIAN OHGODS. IMAGINE. CHANYEOL. SAYS. GRAZIE. IM BYE.

I like the scene where Chanyeol is disappointed in Baekhyun when the latter kept playing with his phone when he is supposed to focus on his vacation and enjoy. I get that this trip is a memorable moment for Chanyeol and he doesn't want anything else to ruin the mood especially stuff at work. And also, how his expression changes when he notices that Baekhyun hates zucchinis. They are all reasonable and I like that ;A; This story is not stressing me out (lol) and I appreciate everything that you've written!

THE ENDING THO. ;A; Why do you do this to my poor hearteu //shakes your shoulders I NEED MORE// I want to know what happens to Chanyeol. ;A; Does he miss Baekhyun? Is he still in love with Baekhyun? ;;;;;;;; These are the questions that make me worry otl but I'm sure it's a happy ending. I just didn't expect it to end that way OTL ok please ignore me. Nevertheless, it's still one of the best fics I've read so far here so fdfhgd

i am so happy you enjoyed this trip around italy (it's one of my favourite countries). I'm not italian, but i've been there many times and i have studied italian. I love the country and the culture. So I focused the fic on that, i wanted people to see the country the way I saw it. So it really makes me happy to see that you want to travel there. there are many other gorgeous cities i didn't add here but are worth visiting.

I wanted to make their problems realistic and thank you for pointing it out :)

as for the ending lol i felt that everything was already said. they know they like each other and when they go back to korea, it was all a matter of who would take the first step and talk first, baekhyun did :)

This was fantastic. I haven't been to any of these places since I was a little girl, but I feel like I've really been to them all over again!! I'm guessing you're probably Italian, haha, or have at least spent a lot of time in Italy.

Your writing is so beautifully descriptive and the emotions all unfold so subtly, which I love. But my favourite part of this fic was the ending -- I always love a good open ending, and this one was perfect. Well done, dear author!

But when i chanyeol felt dissapointed when baekhyun using his phone during vacation, i can really feel him. I really hate it when i went out with my friends and they stuck to their phones. Why bother going out at first??? Lol

as for the sequel, sorry, there won't be one. the story is centered about their meeting in italy, and italy became the main character of the story lol so i didn't think i could write something in seoul. there are clear hints of what can happen afetr they go back home though

first off, i'll just start by saying that i've lived in milan my whole life, i've been to rome twice and once to verona, also i've read from the previous comments that you're not italian and JFC lemme tell u u totally tricked me into thinking you were. HOW ARE U SO ACCURATE!?! i mean, while i was reading i could totally picture in my head the various descriptions of the places and the people bc they're just too accurate, at this point i think i can say u may or may not know italy better than i do but that's beyond the point. the point is, i loved everything about this fic, baekyeol are so cute and even tho it's kind of an open final i'm optimistic enough to believe that they'll end up together and maybe settle down somewhere in the valleys of val camonica (i wish), and yeah i dont want to bore you with a long ass comment but let me just thank you for this beautiful tribute to my country which lately has not particularly been loved by its people (me included). I'm so happy that you think this is accurate and good. I've been to Italy three times and I have studied italian for five years. I read the prompt and I went "I have to write this!! If there's one country I can write about, it's Italy!". It's one of my favorite countries and I feel connected to it (I'm from Argentina and most of my family is of italian descent).
Most of the things they go through in this fic are based on my personal experience (Vito and Rita are based on real people I met, i went all around Pompeii looking for water), but also some things that i want to do if i ever go to Italy again (like watch Aida at the Arena di Verona or have dinner at the Trastevere).
It makes me so happy that you loved it so much :) it means a lot to me.
This fic is a tiny hommage to Italy.
